DSC04716The Syma S107G is a fun indoor helicopter.   The helicopter checks in under $20 and can even be found for less than $15. If you are looking for a toy to fly around indoors this helicopter is definitely an option. They are hard to control and you will be crashing them a lot, but that’s the best part of these cool-looking choppers.  They can be a source of frustration or endless laughter, it’s all about perspective. They had us giggling like school children.

These helicopters are durable.  They can take a beating and keep on flying.  It is well built, using real metal and solid plastic.  The LED is positioned in the front and alternates blue and red.   The detail in the design is nice and they look just like real helicopters.  The blades are tiered and the counterweight above them does a great job of keeping it stable in flight.  The blades aren’t fixed so they give on impact, which is a nice safety feature and keeps it from breaking easily.

S107GThe Syma S107G and S107  come in a variety of colors.  This is a good device for a beginner and is pretty easy to fly.  The remote is also well built and has trim options to help stabilize the helicopter.  It is an infrared controlled device which means it is built for indoor flight only.  These copters do not do well outdoors.

Syma S107G Videos

You know the guys at Half Chrome love to fly and crash drones, but we also love to fly and crash mini helicopters.  Check out some footage of the S107G in action.  The Syma S107G is one tough helicopter.

Syma S107G vs. S107

What are the differences between the Syma S107G and S107?  The answer is very little.  The labeling is different.  The G model was updated with a more advanded gyro.  That gyro is designed to make it more stable. However,  the difference between the two helicopters is minimal and unlikely in our experience to be noticed by most flyers.

You will get about 10 minutes of flight time with this chopper on a full battery.  Of course how you fly will determine your flight time.  Another neat thing about these helicopters is that there are plenty of mods out there that can improve performance.  You can remove some of the extra stability parts and add a bigger battery that will extend flight time and give you more power.  Click here to upgrade from the 150mah to a 200mah battery.

Other Syma Helicopters

Syma makes a lot of very similar models of this helicopter and we would definitely recommend checking them out.  The Syma S107/S107G is a great helicopter for the beginner, but if you are looking for something that looks cool and is easy to fly check out the military versions the Syma S102G, S108G and the S109G.  The S111G is a nifty rescue chopper.  The Chinook S026G is a crowd pleaser as well.
