Binge 1 Quadcopter drone with HD camera

GoolRC Binge 1: A Red JJPRO Hax Clone

The GoolRC Binge 1 is a good beginner GPS quad. It has powerful brushless motors, a 1080p camera, a solid range, a good controller and the return to home feature. It is a rebranding of the popular JJPRO Hax. The only difference as far as we can tell is the badging and the red color. Whether you opt for the GoolRC Binge 1 or the Hax you are getting a solid quadcopter.

Right now you can save $14 off the Red GoolRC Binge 1 from TomTop with the code HTY14GR. That brings the price to an impressive $145.99. Check it out.

The Binge 1 is a good low-cost GPS quacopter. It looks a lot like the popular, but expensive Hubsan H501S and compares pretty favorably to the MJX Bugs 2W. Checking in under $150 makes this quadcopter quite a deal.

HD Camera

The GoolRC Binge 1 carries a removable WiFi 1080p HD camera. This camera may be decent, but it isn’t on a gimbal and doesn’t have image stabilization. I like that it is removable, that means it can be upgraded or replaced with a better camera. You can pick up a nice action camera on Amazon without breaking the bank.

WiFi FPV typically means there will be a small amount of lag in the video signal. The WiFi transmission will also limit the FPV range of the drone. Thankfully, you can also record directly to an SD card for better quality and not worry so much about the WiFi range.

A GPS Enabled Drone

Like most GPS drones, the Binge 1 has a return-to-home feature that you can trigger manually or will occur if you lose signal. If you plan on flying indoors you can rely on altitude hold to keep this quadcopter level. Sadly, the Binge 1 does not seem to have a follow-me or orbit mode. It does, however, have a beginner “Fence” mode which limits both the altitude and distance that the quad can travel. This is a really nice feature and I highly recommend using if you are learning how to fly.

Binge 1 Remote Transmitter

Not only does it look and feel like a solid remote it also adds range and functionality over a toy-grade remote. The LCD display is one of the best ones I’ve seen. It will provide you with all of the information you’ll want and need like the number of GPS satellites, flight mode, speed, altitude and distance from the remote. It really is a nice addition.
