MJX Bugs 3 Mini

This little brushless quadcopter is a lot of fun. MJX took a lot of the positives from their popular Bugs 3 drone and shrank them to create the Bugs 3 Mini. Is it the right drone for you? Keep reading to find out.

MJX Bugs 3 Mini
The MJX Bugs 3 Mini is an excellent brushless motor quad.

The Bugs 3 Mini really is a lot like its big brother the MJX Bugs 3. It is a fun, fast and versatile quadcopter. It also is a very durable drone, so if you are like me and you crash on occasion, this is a pretty solid option.

The Bugs 3 Mini really is just that, a miniature version of the fan favorite.

MJX Bugs 3 Mini Specs

Take a look at the Bugs 3 Mini from the top.

The Bugs 3 is powered by 1306 2750Kv brushless motors and checks in at 186 grams. It is a small and lightweight quad. It looks to be about the same size as the popular DJI Spark. While both of these are brushless, they are very different drones.

Bugs 3 vs Spark
The DJI Spark are similar in size but different in many ways.

While the Bugs 3 mini will not initially ship with a camera, you can add the C5007 camera from MJX. It was designed to be able to fit into the small MJX Bugs 3 Mini. It is a 720p 5G WiFi camera that will connect to the MJX Bugs GO app. You could also add your own 5.8 GHz camera for lower latency and pair it with FPV goggles.

Failing to include a camera is a little disappointing. While 5G WiFi cameras are definitely better than traditional WiFi camera it will have some latency. That will make flying FPV difficult, but not impossible. Since this is more of a beginner/intermediate brushed micro that is probably ok. We recommend adding your own FPV 5.8GHz camera. We borrowed the camera from our Bugs 8.

MJX Bugs 3 Mini Acro FPV
You can plug an MJX Bugs 8 FPV camera into the spot marked FPV to power the camera.

You can see the FPV camera replaced the front headlight on our MJX Bugs 3 Mini.

One of the best features will be that the Bugs 3 Mini will be able to fly in both angle and acro modes. This is a HUGE plus for pilots that want to be able to learn how to fly like the big boys.

The Bugs 3 Mini checks in around 180 grams.

Hopefully, MJX will be offering similar packages to the Bugs 8 Pro where you can buy the drone, drone + camera, or drone + camera + FPV goggles. The Bugs 3 Mini will start around $100 without the included camera. Right now you can save an extra $20 if you order from TomTop on the link below with the code: HTY20MXM

The Bugs 3 Mini is also available on Amazon and Gear Best.

Make sure you get an extra battery, currently only available here.
