DJI has unveiled its most advanced consumer drone yet—the Mavic 4 Pro—on May 13, 2025. This flagship model introduces groundbreaking features, including a 360-degree rotating gimbal, a 100MP camera capable of 6K/60fps HDR video, and up to 51 minutes of flight time. However, due to ongoing import challenges, it will not be launching in the United States. Will it come soon? We sure hope so…
Mavic 4 Pro vs Air 3S vs Mini 4 Pro
We wanted to look at the three best options out there. The new Mavic 4 Pro is fantastic but how does it compare to the Air3S or the Mini 4 Pro? Let’s take a closer look at the more important features.
Camera Specifications
Mavic 4 Pro: Features a triple-camera system with a 100MP main sensor, capable of 6K/60fps HDR video. The 360-degree rotating gimbal allows for versatile shooting angles, including true vertical filming.
Air 3S: Equipped with a dual-camera setup, including a 1-inch sensor capable of 5.4K video at 30fps. It offers excellent image quality suitable for professional use.
Mini 4 Pro: Boasts a 1/1.3-inch sensor with 4K video capabilities. While not as advanced as the Mavic 4 Pro, it delivers impressive quality in a compact form.
The Mini 4 Pro obstacle avoidance cameras are the biggest obvious change.
Flight Performance
Mavic 4 Pro: Offers up to 51 minutes of flight time, the longest among DJI’s consumer drones. It has a top speed of approximately 56 mph and features omnidirectional obstacle avoidance, including in low-light conditions.
Air 3S: Provides up to 45 minutes of flight time and handles winds up to 12 m/s (26.8 mph). It includes omnidirectional obstacle sensing with LiDAR for enhanced low-light performance.
Mini 4 Pro: Delivers up to 45 minutes of flight time with the Intelligent Flight Battery Plus (note: this increases the drone’s weight above 249g). It has omnidirectional obstacle sensing and is optimized for portability.
