EXO Blackhawk 3 Pro

EXO Blackhawk 3 Pro | Big camera, Huge flight time, no Geofencing

The EXO Blackhawk 3 Pro is the newest and the top-of-the-line option from EXO drones. It has a 1/1.3″ sensor on its 4K camera, a handful of intelligent flight modes, and an impressive 9 mile range. The Blackhawk 3 Pro is an upgraded version of the Blackhawk 2 Pro. The Blackhawk 3 has a greater range, longer flight time, and is remote ID compliant. Unlike a lot of DJI drones it does not have geofencing, so you can fly this drone when you want and where you want. EXO allows you to be the responsible pilot you are.

EXO Blackhawk 3 Pro

The EXO Blackhawk 3 Pro is a good high-end consumer-level drone. It is capable of taking excellent pictures and videos. The camera is a good one and capable of solid images thanks to its 1/1.3″ sensor and quad-bayer-like technology. The full three-axis gimbal does a nice job of keeping it stable, even in moderate winds with it’s level 8 wind resistance. The Blackhawk 3 Pro is capable of 4K video @ 30 fps with an impressive bitrate of up to 200 Mbps. It also can take 48 MP still photos. The camera has a large f/1.85 aperture as well as HDR and night shooting modes.

EXO Blackhawk 3 Pro

There are six obstacle avoidance sensors on the Blackhawk 3 Pro, giving it full 360-degree protection. The new Syncleas 3 transmission system and extra antennas give it a range of up to 9 miles. It has level 8 wind resistance and can reach speeds of up to 35 mph. The Blackhawk 3 Pro has a flight time of up to 53 minutes with the newer and larger battery. This is one of the longest flight times you can achieve on any consumer drone.

The new EXO Blackhawk 3 Pro has a red, white and blue ‘MERICA themed paint job. As per usual EXO has included a nice shoulder bag with the drone so you can easily take the drone with you as well as have a save place to store it when you aren’t flying. The drone along with the remote controller fold up so they are compact and easy to store.

EXO drones and Hubsan

EXO is taking over all North American operations for Hubsan. That is a very good thing for consumers. Hubsan will still handle the engineering and EXO will be manning all other facets of the business. The one thing Hubsan always did well was the engineering of the drone. The hardware was always solid. What Hubsan lacked was the ability to implement a seamless user experience. Their quality control was quite poor. I’m hoping that EXO can fix that issue and help create a legitimate alternative to DJI.

If you are looking for a drone that doesn’t have geofencing, has an amazing flight time, impressive range and high quality 4K camera there aren’t a lot of different options out there. This EXO Blackhawk 3 Pro is certainly an excellent option and a welcome alternative to DJI.
